Affordable accommodations in Miami on Florida during the peak season start at just $55 per night for two people, including taxes. Guesthouses and motels tend to be cheaper, while hotels are generally more expensive. Private apartments often provide the best balance of price and quality in Miami, although finding them can be time-consuming. In this article, I’ll recommend three types of hotels: budget-friendly, offering good value for money, and beachfront accommodations.

Things to Know About Accommodations in Miami
📅 Book Early
The sooner you book your hotel, the more you’ll save since you’ll have access to the widest range of offers. Some accommodations and platforms provide free cancellation options without penalties, such as Booking.com. This allows you to book a hotel as a backup and then look for a better deal.
🗺️ Location Matters
Location is one of the most critical factors when it comes to accommodation, both for safety and convenience. A good location saves time when visiting attractions and enhances your overall experience of the area. For extended stays, I recommend choosing Miami Beach. For road trips, a hotel near the highway may be more practical.
💰 Ways to Save on Hotels
When traveling in a group of four, you can save money by compromising on comfort and booking one room with separate beds instead of two rooms. American beds tend to be spacious, allowing two people to sleep comfortably in one bed. Additional savings can be achieved by opting for accommodations with shared bathrooms and no included breakfast.
🧾 Taxes May Not Be Included
On some listings and booking platforms, prices may initially appear lower than they actually are because they exclude taxes and local fees. Before finalizing your reservation, always verify that the listed price is the final amount. Personally, I primarily use Booking.com, which clearly displays all fees.

Affordable Hotels in Miami
With a bit of luck, you can book affordable hotels in Miami starting at $55, including taxes, per room per night. However, the quality of such accommodations can be a risk. The cheapest options often have ratings far below average, with common issues like poor cleanliness and low comfort levels. Based on my experience, to ensure basic comfort, it’s best to select hotels with ratings of at least 6.5. Hotels rated above 8.0 generally offer a reliable standard and a pleasant experience.
Here are three affordable hotels in Miami where I would personally feel comfortable staying. All hotels and their ratings were last updated on January 23, 2025.
1️⃣ Habitacion Centrica Calle 8 Miami
✔️ A small guesthouse in the Little Havana district offering excellent value for money. It has a solid Booking rating of 7.9/10. Key advantages include good car access, comfortable beds, and high cleanliness standards. Rooms come with toiletries and a coffee maker.
❌ Some guests are dissatisfied with the shared bathroom, which is smaller than expected. The guesthouse only accommodates adults, and breakfast is not included.
2️⃣ Miami River Inn by Renzzi
✔️ This three-star hotel has a solid Booking rating of 7.4/10 and stands out with a beautiful garden and pool. Advantages include its low price and good location, providing easy access to downtown Miami and Miami Beach. Breakfast is included in the price of some rooms.
❌ Critical reviews often mention noise from a nearby nightclub. This hotel is not ideal for guests seeking peace and quiet.
3️⃣ Staybridge Suites – Miami International Airport
✔️ Staybridge Suites apartments, rated 8.1/10 on Booking, are a great choice if you prefer accommodation close to the airport. The 24-hour reception, outdoor pool, barbecue area, and juice bar are noteworthy amenities. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and guests also appreciate the free airport shuttle and friendly staff.
❌ The most frequent criticism concerns the lack of a restaurant in or near the hotel. Some guests were also dissatisfied with the infrequent shuttle service between the hotel and the airport.

Advantages include easy highway access and free street parking in front of the hotel. Guests praise the comfortable mattresses, convenient location, and helpful staff.
❌ Most negative reviews mention the lack of in-room amenities, such as tea or coffee. Some guests were also displeased with the surrounding neighborhood.
✔️ Tru By Hilton, a three-star hotel, boasts an excellent Booking rating of 8.6/10. Opened in 2021, the hotel’s amenities are all brand new. Guests also appreciate the location, a pool with views of skyscrapers, and highly-rated breakfasts included in the room rate.
❌ Critical reviews are relatively few. Some guests noted that the rooms were small, and the hotel’s surrounding area lacked interesting attractions within walking distance.

The location is highly rated at 9.7/10, staff at 9.3/10, and value for money at 8.8/10. Guests also highlight the surrounding area with its restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops.
