Hotels tend to be more expensive, with better value for money in Miami and Miami Beach offering private accommodation. In this article I will recommend three types of hotels: cheap, good value for money and beachfront accommodation. I would stay in all of them myself.

What to Know about Hotels in Miami
📅 Book Your Accommodation in Advance
The earlier you book your hotel, the more you save by having the most deals to choose from. I recommend using the free cancellation option on Booking. You book your hotel for sure and then you can shop around for a better deal.
🗺️ Put Emphasis on Location
For me personally, location is one of the most important parameters of accommodation. A good location saves time and better helps you soak up the atmosphere of the place. For a longer stay I recommend choosing Miami Beach, for road trips a hotel near the highway.
💰 How to Save Money on a Hotel
When travelling with four people, you can save money by booking one room instead of two. American beds are large and you can sleep two in one bed. You can save money by opting for accommodation with shared bathrooms and no breakfast included.
🧾 Some Marketplaces Do Not Include Tax
On some booking portals, the price of accommodation may appear better at first glance than elsewhere. However, this is often because they don’t include taxes and city fees. Always check this. Personally, I almost exclusively use Booking.com, which lists all taxes.

Cheap Hotels in Miami
Cheap hotels in Miami are usually available from $55 per room per night, the risk is the quality of the accommodation. The ratings are well below average and according to previous guests, these places are not renowned for their cleanliness and comfort. From my own experience, I recommend choosing hotels rated above 6.5 on Booking (if you’re just looking for a place to stay), and above 8.0 for comfort.
I’ve picked three budget hotels in Miami, I would stay at any of them. I last updated all hotels and their ratings on June 26, 2024.
Hotel Reviews Description Habitacion Centrica Calle 8 7,9/10 Clean smaller guesthouse in a good location offering comfortable beds and overall good value for money. The downside is the shared bathrooms. Selina Miami River 7,4/10 Cheaper hotel located near downtown Miami, downside is noisier neighborhood. Check out the beautiful courtyard garden with palm trees. Staybridge Suites 8,1/10 An above-average hotel located near Miami airport, with the advantage of a 24-hour front desk, good driving access, and a very good breakfast included in the price. 1️⃣ Habitacion Centrica Calle 8 Miami
This small guesthouse offers great value for money, with a rating of 7.9/10. The advantages are very good accessibility by car, comfortable beds and excellent cleanliness rating. Toiletries and a coffee maker are provided in the room, and breakfast is an extra charge.
2️⃣ Selina Miami River
This three-star hotel has a rating of 7.4/10 and impresses with its pretty garden and swimming pool. The advantage is the relatively low price and the good location, from which it is easy to reach Miami and Miami Beach. Breakfast is included in the price of some rooms.
3️⃣ Staybridge Suites – Miami International Airport
The hotel is rated 8.1/10 and is an excellent choice if you are looking for accommodation close to the airport. Breakfast is included in the price, the reception is open 24 hours a day and you can use the outdoor pool, barbecue area or juice bar.

Best Hotels in Miami by Price and Quality
The next group of tips are hotels with an average rating above 8/10. For a good price you get a very good standard where you are guaranteed a good stay. I’ve selected three again in case any of them are full.

Tru By Hilton 8,6/10 Newly built hotel stands out with great ratings, good breakfast included and large comfortable beds. You can use the pool, and you can walk to downtown. Viajero Miami Beach 8,7/10 This four-star hotel in close proximity to Miami Beach maintains a high rating despite several thousand reviews, for example, the location, which is important to me, has a 9.7/10. Check out the photos, it’s sure to catch your eye at first glance. 1️⃣ Life House, Little Havana
This stylish hotel, rated 8.2/10, features a pretty roof terrace and views of the city centre. It has great motorway access and free on-street parking. Rooms tend to be smaller, but beds have comfortable mattresses.
2️⃣ Tru By Hilton Miami
This three-star hotel with an 8.6/10 rating only opened in 2021, so all the amenities are new. On the plus side, it has a good location, above-average breakfast included and a pool with views of the skyscrapers. Guests praise the cleanliness and comfort.
3️⃣ Viajero Miami Beach
This superbly rated boutique hotel is located in close proximity to Miami Beach, and at first glance, you’ll be captivated by its bright colours and central pool. Worth mentioning are the high ratings of 9.7/10 for location, 9.3/10 for staff and 8.6/10 for value for money.
Reception is available 24 hours a day, downtown Miami is a 10-minute drive away and the airport is a 20-minute drive away. Check out the photos, see if you like the hotel too.

Relax with the kids on the beach and party the night away in Miami Beach. I have selected three accommodations suitable for families and parties of friends.

For example, the location is rated 9.7/10 on Booking.com, and the cleanliness is rated 9.5/10. Check out the photos. Viajero Miami 8,7/10 This well-rated smaller hotel is a 5-minute walk from Ocean Drive, earning it a 9.7/10 for location. Perks include a 24-hour front desk and a lovely courtyard with a pool. Harding Boutique Apartments 8,5/10 The apartments in the North Beach location are close to the beach and are a good choice for those travelers who want to avoid busy hotels. 1️⃣ Miami Beach Rooms B&B
This is where you want to stay. The 9.3/10 rated private apartments are 1,640 ft from the beach and are suitable for whole families or large groups. Guests praise just about everything including the location, cleanliness of the facilities or the view. Judge for yourself.
2️⃣ Viajero Miami
A smaller hotel with a rating of 8.7/10 impressed me so much that I have to recommend it in this section. The hotel is located in the well rated South Beach area. The bars and restaurants on Ocean Drive are a 5 minute walk away. Guests praise the cleanliness, the location of the hotel, the staff and the great value for money.
3️⃣ Harding Boutique Apartments
More peace and privacy can be found in the 8.5/10 rated apartments located in North Miami Beach. They are suitable for families and groups of friends. Guests speak highly of the proximity to the beach, cleanliness and great value for money.
