Heart Attack Grill – Can You Eat a Burger With 4 lb of Meat?

Today’s world demands a fit body, healthy food, and perfect Instagram photos. American Jon Basso saw through this trend and opened a restaurant that operates on the exact opposite principle. It offers highly caloric meals, and diners take on the role of patients who receive a spanking from waitresses dressed as sexy nurses if they don’t finish their food. The Heart Attack Grill is located (where else but) in Las Vegas.

Interesting Facts About the Controversial Restaurant in Las Vegas

The first Heart Attack Grill restaurant opened in 2005 in Chandler, Arizona. In March 2011, Blair River, the spokesperson for Diet Center LLC, passed away, and at the end of May 2011, the restaurant was closed—unrelated to this unfortunate event.

The second Heart Attack Grill location opened in May 2011 in Dallas, Texas, but by October 2011, it had closed due to unpaid rent.

The Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas opened in October 2011. Shortly after, on February 11, 2012, a customer suffered a heart attack while eating a triple-patty burger. In February 2013, frequent Heart Attack Grill visitor John Alleman passed away from a heart attack right in front of the restaurant.

    🚑 The Restaurant’s Interior Resembles a Hospital

The restaurant’s décor and menu follow a hospital theme. Waitresses dress as nurses, customers play the role of patients, and management acts as doctors. The restaurant’s slogan is “A burger worth dying for.”

Las Vegas is a city of extreme attractions, where nothing is too outrageous. The Heart Attack Grill fits perfectly into this atmosphere.

The restaurant’s owner has a sense of humor, as its official operator is a company called Diet Center LLC.

🍔 The Menu Is Deliberately Pushed to an Unhealthy Extreme

Heart Attack Grill maintains its hospital theme even in its menu, where all burgers are named “Bypass.” The largest burger on the menu is the “Octuple Bypass Burger,” with a total calorie count of approximately 9,982 calories. The Octuple Bypass Burger consists of eight beef patties weighing a total of 4 lb, 40 slices of bacon, 16 slices of cheddar cheese, 16 slices of tomato, 7 slices of red onion, and a special sauce.

The fries at Heart Attack Grill are deep-fried in pure lard to be as unhealthy as possible. For those with a sweet tooth, the restaurant offers the “Butter-Fat Shake” in vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors, made with heavy whipped cream.

🍟 Get Free Food at Heart Attack Grill

Any customer weighing 350 lb or more is entitled to unlimited free Single Bypass Burgers. All they need to do is step on the scale in the restaurant, where a nurse will verify their weight. During my visit, a customer qualified for the free burger offer, and the entire restaurant was alerted by a loud siren.

Free burgers must be consumed inside the restaurant, and each one must be accompanied by a new drink purchase.

If you manage to finish an entire Octuple Bypass Burger, you will receive a free wheelchair ride out of the restaurant. However, the “carrot and stick” method works both ways—if you fail to finish your meal (any meal), a nurse will publicly spank you with a giant paddle.

  2. Heart Attack Grill Menu in Las Vegas

The Single Bypass Burger, priced at $14.60, contains one beef patty, while the Double Bypass Burger, at $18.15, includes two patties, and so on. The menu’s largest option, the Octuple Bypass Burger, features eight beef patties weighing a total of 4 lb, priced at $38. If that’s not enough, you can add 40 slices of bacon for $8.26.

Side options include fries for $2.75, chili cheese fries for $7.59, and onion rings for $9.60.

A bottle of water, as well as cans of Coca-Cola, 7Up, Dr. Pepper, and A&W Root Beer, costs $2.75. A can of Modelo or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is priced at $8.00.

I last updated the menu prices on March 1, 2025. All listed amounts already include an 8.38% tax, whereas the prices on the Heart Attack Grill’s in-restaurant menus do not include tax. The restaurant only accepts cash; credit cards are not accepted.

⭐ My Review of Heart Attack Grill

I visited Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas once, mainly out of curiosity. It’s more of a bizarre attraction than a gourmet experience, but you will get a meal out of it. The portion sizes are typically American—huge—so I recommend ordering conservatively.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is shaped by its guests. A weighing scale in one corner determines whether customers over 350 lb qualify for free food, and a siren announces their “victory.” Meanwhile, in the center of the restaurant, a pull-up bar is used to administer spankings to customers who fail to finish their meals.
